Devastated by Cyclone Yagi, Myanmar’s army chief appeals for aid

Naypyitaw: Myanmar’s army chief has appealed for aid after the worst floods in the wake of Cyclone Yagi.

According to foreign media, the most powerful cyclone Yagi also caused destruction in Myanmar. More than 235,000 people were displaced due to landslides and floods due to rains.

According to reports, the army chief made an extraordinary appeal for aid due to the dire situation in Myanmar.

After 3 years of civil war in Myanmar, the people who are already in worse conditions are suffering due to floods.

Cyclone Yagi, the strongest cyclone of the year in Asia, caused heavy rains in Myanmar. Due to which incidents of landslides occurred while 66 people have died in various accidents so far. And more than 235 thousand people have been displaced.

Myanmar’s army chief, Senior General Man Aung, said that government agencies need to coordinate with other countries to provide relief and rescue people.

He said that it is very important that rescue, relief and rehabilitation work should be started immediately. While they themselves are also supervising rescue and relief operations.

Media reports indicated that Myanmar’s military had previously blocked aid from Europe.

It should be noted that typhoon Yagi also caused severe destruction in Vietnam, Thailand, Laos and the Philippines where a total of 300 people died.
