Men’s T20 Emerging Asia Cup 2024 schedule announced

COLOMBO: The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) officially announced the schedule for the Men’s T20 Emerging Asia Cup 2024 on Friday.

The tournament is set to begin on October 18 in Oman.

The Men’s T20 Emerging Asia Cup will feature eight teams, with several up and coming talent across the region. The participating teams include Pakistan A, India A, Sri Lanka A, Bangladesh A, Afghanistan A, Hong Kong, the host nation Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) .

The teams have been divided into two groups for the tournament, with Group A consisting of Sri Lana, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Hong Kong. Similarly, Group B consists of Pakistan, India, the UAE and Oman.

The structure of the tournament is designed to provide a competitive platform for young players to gain experience and showcase their skills on an international stage.

One of the most anticipated of the tournament will be the group B clash between Pakistan and India, scheduled for October 19. The match between the historic arch-rivals is expected to draw huge crowds.

Fans of the two South Asian giants  are eager to see a different crowd, especially given the recent disappointing performance from the Pakistan men’s national cricket team, including causing a major upset in cricketing history by losing to the United States team in the recent World Cup.

Pakistan A’s schedule includes matches against Oman on October 21 and the UAE on October 23.

The two matches against the Gulf nations is critical fro Pakistan A as they aim to secure a place in the knockout stages of the tournament,.

The semi-finals are set to take place on October 25, with te tournament set to culminate October 27.
