The Chief Election Commissioner suspended 3 officers of the department for 120 days for incompetence and misconduct.
In this regard, a notification has also been issued by the Election Commission. The suspended officers include Provincial Election Commissioner Sindh Sharifullah, Director Admin and Provincial Election Commission Sindh Azhar Hussain Tanwari and Election Officer Karachi Khuda Bakhsh.
According to the notification, the three officers will remain in Karachi till the completion of the inquiry and until further orders, while Joint Provincial Election Commissioner Ali Asghar Syal has been appointed as Acting Election Commissioner Sindh.

The Election Commission says that on the night of September 17, many bags of different polling stations were damaged by forcibly breaking the locks of the strong room in Papri Karachi, for which a committee has been set up to investigate.
The notification further said that Joint Provincial Election Commissioner Sindh Nazar Abbas, Director Waseem Ahmed and REC Larkana Abdul Waheed are included in the inquiry committee. The committee will complete the investigation in 3 days and submit its report.
