Indian Lieutenant General’s recognition of the professionalism of Pakistani soldiers

Rawalpindi: Lieutenant General S Mohan of the Indian Army has acknowledged the professionalism of the Pakistani soldiers serving in the United Nations peacekeeping mission.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), the peacekeeping forces of the Pakistan Army are carrying out their duties for the establishment of peace and security in Sudan on behalf of the United Nations Security Council. Peacekeepers of Pakistan Army worked in a tough challenge to ensure the safety of civilians. And this has been their priority.

Military personnel served day and night to 250,000 Sudanese displaced from flood-affected areas. Force Commander United Mission, Indian Lt. Gen. S. Mohan acknowledged the professionalism of the Pakistani peacekeeping force. This acknowledgment was made in the form of a letter to Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir.

The Indian General Officer appreciated the professionalism, dedication and unwavering commitment of the Pakistani peacekeepers. Brigadier Shafqat Iqbal as Sector Commander, Lt Col Shahbaz Aslam as Commanding Officer was specially appreciated.

The ISPR said that the force commander’s recognition is a credible one in international peace efforts. And a testament to Pakistan Army’s reputation as a capable partner.

Pakistan is committed to play an important role as a responsible member of the international community to help realize the ideals of global peace and security through active cooperation in UN peacekeeping missions.
