The government’s refusal to make Sheikh Waqas Akram the chairman PAC

The government has refused to make Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sheikh Waqas Akram the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

The government has insisted on sending a panel of four names for the chairman PAC while the opposition has a last chance to send a panel of names. According to government sources, the government has sent a letter to Tehreek-e-Insaaf for the third time for the panel of names.

The arrested PTI MNAs were released

In a few days, if the opposition does not send the name, the election of the Chairman PAC will be held. Sources say that if the names are not provided, any party will get the leadership of PAC with majority votes.

It should be noted that due to the stubbornness of Tehreek-e-Insaf, the most important committee of the Parliament has been inactive for seven months, while audit reports related to financial irregularities worth trillions of rupees are also pending.
