Instructing the relevant institutions to be alert to deal with the flood situation

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif issued directives to NDMA, PDMAs and other related institutions to be on high alert to deal with the expected threat of flooding due to rains in the urban areas of Punjab.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said in view of the heavy rains across the country that he is personally monitoring the expected severe spell of monsoon till August 25 from the dashboard.

He said that NDMA, PDMAs, rescue and relief agencies, should be ready at all times to protect the people in the catchment area of ​​Chenab river and the cities under the threat of flood situation due to rains.

Shahbaz Sharif said that in any emergency situation, full preparation should be ensured for the evacuation and rescue of people, drainage, medicines, tents and other relief items.

He said that the citizens should be kept fully aware of the situation in the areas expected to be affected by the rains and floods. Precautionary measures should be taken to prevent expected flood rails around canals, streams and rivers.

The Prime Minister said that it should be ensured that the citizens are aware of the disaster alert application of NDMA to monitor the situation at all times.
