PARIS: Faiqa Riaz, who competed in the 100m race at the Paris Olympics 2024, will represent Pakistan at the closing ceremony of the Games.

Despite not advancing past the preliminary rounds in her event, Riaz has been chosen to lead the Pakistani delegation in this final ceremonial occasion.

At the Olympic closing ceremony, Riaz will be joined by Pakistan’s Paris Olympics chef de mission Mohammad Shafiq and chief medical officer Meesaq Rizvi.

The ceremony is set to begin at 12 pm Pakistan time on Sunday, marking the end of the Paris Olympics.

The majority of Pakistani athletes have already returned home after completing their events.

Pakistan secured its sole gold medal through Arshad Nadeem in javelin throw. Other athletes from the Pakistani team did not progress beyond the initial rounds of their events.

The closing ceremony will offer a chance for nations to celebrate the conclusion of the Olympics and honour the achievements of their athletes.
