Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) in which he was apprised of the situation in Bangladesh.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Guba, PMK Principal Secretary PK Mishra, Research and Analysis Wing Chief Ravi Sinha and Intelligence Bureau. Director Tapan Deka was present in the meeting.

The meeting, chaired by the Indian Prime Minister, comes amid a political crisis in neighboring Bangladesh after its Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled the country. Hasina arrived at Hindon Airbase where she met National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

India has suspended all train services to Bangladesh indefinitely. According to the Ministry of Railways, Maitri Express, Bandhan Express and Mithali Express last ran in mid-July this year.
