ISLAMABAD: Former Caretaker Minister of Commerce and Industry Gohar Ijaz has said that take electricity from whoever gives cheap electricity. It is not the government’s job to do business.
Former Caretaker Minister of Commerce and Industry Gohar Ejaz has said in his statement that 2 plants were installed at double cost and there are 3 plants which took crores of rupees without working.
He said that a forensic audit should be conducted on the contracts with the IPPs. We are going to the Supreme Court against these 40 IPPs companies.

Gohar Ejaz said that we ask people to sign petitions with us. If the government had listened to us, we would not have gone to the Supreme Court. Today, all the chambers want to convey the message that if the people have money, there will be business.
He said that they are taking so much money without generating electricity in the name of capacity payment. No investment is happening in any city of Pakistan. Where inflation is being controlled and monetary policy is not understood.
