LAHORE: The Punjab Bar Council fully supported the demands of former federal minister Gauhar Ijaz for reduction in electricity bills and forensic audit of IPPs.
According to the statement issued by the Punjab Bar Council, Gauhar fully supports Ejaz’s demands for fair electricity prices. Gohar also supports Ejaz’s demand for a forensic audit of the IPPs by international experts.
The Bar Council leaders said that Dr Gauhar also fully supports Ejaz’s demand for halving the electricity prices. The measures are aimed at reducing the burden on the people, businesses and industries of Pakistan.
He said that Dr. Gohar Ijaz has emphasized the need for economic reforms in Pakistan.

The leaders of the Punjab Bar Council said that they recognize the importance of the efforts made by Dr. Gohar Ejaz on the national economic issue and the government is led by Gohar Ejaz, representatives of relevant institutions, technical and legal experts, economists and representatives of civil society. A body consisting of This body should be given responsibility for policy formulation and monitoring of implementation of reforms.

Lawyer leaders said that fair and affordable electricity prices are essential for the prosperity of the people and the country. Lawyer leaders demanded that the payments of IPPs be stopped and a forensic audit be conducted.
